Crafted & Springs Premium Handcrafted Mattresses is a family owned and operated company that builds and sells mattresses directly to its customers. Located in Clearwater, Florida, each mattress is hand-crafted using the highest-quality, made in USA materials. All of the products are designed, built, and tested under one roof; which are then sold factory-direct via this website.

Our goal is to provide our customers with the absolute best overall buying experience in the Mattress Market. Material quality, skilled tailoring, and top-notch customer service has allowed us to achieve success over the last three decades.

Experience, Skill, and Attention to Detail

Coil systems are assembled, fabrics are cut and padding is applied. Then the mattresses are packaged and shipped, all from the same location. From start to finish, all manufacturing processes are performed following exclusive, procedural guidelines, which have been proven successful for over three decades. This yields a consistent level of quality and tailoring, each and every time.

Crafted & Springs is an alternative to your average "mass produced" mattress and the differences are significant. The build process is painstaking in its attention to detail and, unlike mass production factories that turn out hundreds of mattresses per day, the necessary amount of time is set aside to make sure each item is built correctly. Alongside craftsmanship, quality of material is also very important. Only the best of the best materials make the cut because it's the only way to produce the best mattress.

Everything is sourced from the United States and attention is paid to the environment. The support system in all of our mattress options consist of tempered-steel, which provides stronger support and less change over time than any other design. All high-density upholstery padding have been approved by CertiPUR-US as low emission and made without ozone depleters and are Hazardous chemical free, all latex padding is 100% All Natural Talalay latex and is Rainforest Alliance Certified, and the adhesive glue used is a water-based solution that has received a GREENGUARD certificate of compliance by Underwriters Laboratory (UL), ISO 9001 Certified, OEKO-TEX Eco-Passport Certified.We use a Rayon, which is a wood based fiber as our fire resistant material that is made from wood pulp and is USDA BioBased Certified (We steer far away from the toxic fiberglass).

Our History

Our History starts with our Uncle/Brother-in-law, who started handcrafting his own mattress in the early 90's in his garage. Working for Simmons for 10 years he had the knowledge and experienced almost every job from sales, building, product buyer, regional manager. After understanding the market and what he saw from his time at Simmons, he thought he could buy higher quality materials, sourced in the USA, Handcraft them himself and still be more affordable then big brand box stores. With that goal in mind, He was able to purchase his first factory in Agawam, Massachussets, which then led the to the start of Yankee Mattress Factory and to his first store front as well. Working hard and keeping the same great formula years later went on to be four stores and a factory producing handcrafted Mattresses across Western Massachussetts and Northern Connecticut.

With the help of his sons Nick, Conner and Jake (who are mentioned below in our craftsman section), and nephews/brother-in-law Billy, Jack and Bill, Yankee Mattress extended into a second generation of building, sales, and delivery. 17 years voted #1 and three decades of crafting turned into four companies all using the same love, appreciation, dedication and craft their Founder once put forth. In 2020 Nick created Custom Mattress Makers to bring a whole new audience to our American Made Handcrafted Mattresses. Building custom sized mattresses for RV's, Boats, Campers, Sofas, Pull out couches, antique beds and other odd sized mattresses.

When his father retired and moved to Florida, Nick and his brothers followed. Moving Custom Mattress Makers with him, then led to a store front in Palm Harbor and Venice, Florida, selling standard and custom sizes to the area called Tampa Mattress Makers. Custom Mattress Makers is an online website that ships across 48 US states and has been 5 years #1 Custom Mattress by Sleep Doctor and Sleep Foundation, also #1 RV Mattress by Sleep Foundation.

With Bill, Jack and Billy running the Venice - Tampa Mattress Store they wanted to offer standard size mattress to the US as well which is where Crafted & Springs came from. Crafted & Springs gets its name from being Handcrafted and all mattresses are Hybrid Springs/Coils. Being able to roll pack and ship such a High-Quality, American Made, Hazardous Chemical Free, 100% All Natural Latex mattress at such a competitive price can hopefully change/educate mattress shoppers online. With one family and 4 companies all producing the same material and quality, will one day set up the third generation of this family business and keep the same goals, and values.

Bill Lamirande

Founder/President

Started off in our sister stores as a roaming salesman, worked his way up to head salesman, and later on to General Manager of the Company. Now the founder of Crafted & Springs to bring our award winning mattresses to the online customers. Outside of the business Bill is a big fan of the Cowboys, Red Sox, Bruins and Notre Dame, spending most of his time watching his favorite teams live and on TV.

Billy Lamirande

Right out of High School Billy started off as delivery helper in our sister store, he progressed his way up to Head delivery driver, spending time in sales he then moved on to become Head builder of the Company. Now with the experience and youth Billy is looking to grow the craftsmanship his Uncle once started. Outside of the business Billy enjoys playing lots of Golf, watching Nascar and supporting his teams.... Cowboys, Red Sox, Bruins, Notre Dame and his favorite driver Ryan Blaney.

Jack Lamirande

Jack started his time in our sister store in High School helping out with things around the Factory then worked his way up to help his brother with deliveries. Leaving the family business to join the Air Force with the hopes of becoming a fighter pilot. With new aspirations in life Jack looks to team up with his Father and brother to grow their American craftsmanship nationwide. Outside the business Jack enjoys Fishing, Motocross, Air Shows, Golf and supporting his teams... Cowboys, Red Sox, Celtics, and LSU

The Craftsman Behind Each Mattress

With the help from Billy, Jack and Bill's Cousins and Nephews we're able to handcraft each mattress one by one. Nick, Conner, Jake and BJ run Tampa Mattress Makers and Custom Mattress Makers (read more on these companies above in our history) bringing Handcrafted standard or custom sized mattresses in stores or to RV's, Boats, Campers or any odd size Mattress needed. Crafted & Springs parter with our same family (Custom and Tampa Mattress Makers) and the crew that have been in the business for over three decades.

Certifications

Fire Resistant Material

We do not use any fiberglass in our mattresses. Our Fire Resistant material is Rayon which is a semi-liquid mixture created by breaking down raw wood fibers, and is a USDA Certified biobased product.

Polyurethane Foam (Uphostery)

Our Uphostery Foam is Hazardous Chemical free and are CertPur-US certified which means they are...Low Emission (VOC's) for indoor air quality, Made without ozone depleters, Made without PBDF's, Made without Mercury, Lead and Heavy Metals, Made without Formaldehyde, Made without Prohibited phthalates

Glue/Adhesive

We use a Water-based Glue as our Adhessive, this glue is GREENGUARD Certfield, ISO 9001 Certified, OEKO-TEX Eco-Passport Certified. This glue is proven stronger and more durable and takes about a day to fully dry. Which is why it can withstand being Roll packed and shipped.

100% All Natural Latex

Our 100% Natual Latex is made from a rubber tree, the sap from the tree is then baked in warm water to create the mixer, this Talalay Latex is Rainforrest Aliance Certified
